Living Archive Program

Across families and communities, irreplaceable stories are lost every day, not because they lack value, but because no one paused to record them.

The Living Archive is Melanotion’s documentary preservation program dedicated to safeguarding memory, lineage, and lived experience through intentional storytelling.

Through guided oral history conversations and archival documentation, we preserve the stories of matriarchs, patriarchs, elders, veterans, and community culture bearers, ensuring their voices are recorded with care and carried forward for future generations.

Why This Matters

Many families only realize the importance of preserving a story after it’s too late.
The Living Archive exists to help families record memory while voices are still here.

Our Offerings

  • Documenting the story of the person everyone gathers around — the keeper of memory, values, and lineage.

  • Private documentation and storytelling activations conducted before or during family reunions, preserving legacy for present and future generations.
